Fox

It has been for many years my steadfast policy to dislike animation. Why?! It's not really because I dislike it; rather, it's because I associate "liking animation" to people who watch Disney Princess movies, as adults, and not in the spirit of irony, jest, or babysitting. To be honest, this just dorks me out. I feel like there are so many other more interesting media-things to waste your time on than Disney movies. I'm sure this opinion is unpopular, but my little virtual world has a semi-strict law of full disclosure.

Anyways, I've been abandoning this anti-animation policy more and more because, well, some animation that comes out looks pretty interesting. I saw Up, and I must admit I really dug it. I might have even shed a tear, but I don't remember (note: that law of full disclosure was semi-strict). The other night, I went with my beau to see The Fantastic Mr. Fox, and it was honestly great. I mean, there was no intriguing Mad Men-esque catatonic misery, but it was very unique and interesting aesthetically, and it was funny. I would recommend it to any adult...

...however, I probably will judge you if I find out a few years down the road that you have just watched it on DVD for the 12th time in your Snuggie.

PS. I just saw a preview for this French animation film called Panique au Village that looks pretty good. Check it out !!

  1. If there is one thing I know about you, it's that, if socially acceptable, you'd be snuggied out 24/7 - fully disclosed, dear.
